Jackson County Area Receives New FM Signal

WZZB 1390 Will Now Simulcast on 99.3 FM

As of July 18, 2016, WZZB 1390 is now simulcasting all programming on a new FM frequency, 99.3 which is a 24 hour FM frequency while maintaining their broadcast on AM1390.

According to Blair Trask co-owner of WZZB 1390 with his wife Kelly Trask, “This FM frequency allows listeners to enjoy programming WZZB offers on an FM Channel 24/7 which includes Adult Contemporary/Pop Music, Dave Ramsey show, Trinity High School Sports, and of course the much relied on news from Bud Shippee.”

In January of 2016 the FCC opened a window of filings for AM station owners to apply for an FM translator signal if available in a markets coverage area to allow the AM frequency to be broadcasted on a FM signal. Owners could purchase that signal giving the AM station an excellent opportunity for coverage within the same market using the FM translator station while continuing to broadcast on the AM 1390 channel. The FM frequency will not have to be turned down in the evening giving listeners WZZB coverage 24/7.

“This is an incredible opportunity for listeners to have another means of obtaining the news, weather, local sports and of course music they love. The addition of the FM signal will give listeners a music alternative in the area and allow more listeners to enjoy WZZB,” said Blair Trask.
